Position Overview:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineering Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating with top-tier brands to enhance their omnichannel and parcel distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the mechanical engineering specifications for each project.
- Estimate engineering hours accurately.
- Define project contract requirements and explore available options.
- Serve as the technical liaison with the client's project representatives.
- Establish clear project scope definitions.
- Conduct thorough reviews of 3D models.
- Address equipment and installation challenges.
- Manage and execute mechanical change orders.
- Mentor junior Project Engineers and guide them through challenges.
- Document mechanical lessons learned.
- Oversee mechanical equipment and installation processes.
- Resolve field-related issues.

Project Management:

- Create and maintain a mechanical engineering schedule to ensure timely delivery of materials that align with installation timelines.
- Possess a thorough understanding of project contract documents, including any clarifications and exceptions.
- Execute projects within the established budget and estimated hours.
- Provide extensive technical assistance to Project Engineers, vendors, field installation teams, and engineering subcontractors regarding inquiries.
- Facilitate weekly meetings with project stakeholders and clients.
- Delegate tasks to project engineers and monitor their progress regularly.
- Uphold project-specific requirements while applying a broad understanding of conveying systems and customer specifications.
- Assist Project Engineers in interpreting and ensuring adherence to client specifications.
- Communicate project-specific updates with other departments.
- Release drawings for installation and fabrication.
- Inform relevant parties about changes in project scope as they arise.
- Regularly update engineering management on project status.
- Identify opportunities for professional growth, cost savings, quality enhancements, and improved customer service.
- Review mechanical designers' drawings for accuracy and provide constructive feedback.
- Conduct or oversee engineering analyses as dictated by project needs.

Qualifications:

- Provide technical support to vendors, field installation teams, and engineering subcontractors regarding inquiries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and process improvements simultaneously.
- Experience in estimating mechanical hours and supporting change orders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, and BIM is advantageous.

Education:

- Proven experience in executing and supporting multiple mid to large-scale projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering and design.

Travel Requirements:

- Some international travel may be necessary, depending on project demands and urgency.
