Healthcare Professional for Vulnerable Children

Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Staff Nurse who has Paediatric community experience of working with vulnerable children and their families. The team is part of our Healthy Child Programme Service 0-19, which incorporates Health Visiting, School Nursing, and Teenage Pregnancy Services.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience working as a qualified Senior Staff Nurse and working with babies, children, and young people. You will have an excellent record of working in partnership with other agencies and services.
Main Responsibilities
To effectively lead and deliver on the Healthy Child Programme (DH 2021) to improve outcomes, identification, and targeting of health needs for vulnerable children and families. These may include asylum seekers, domestic abuse, homelessness, refugees, sex workers, drug & alcohol addiction, trafficking, and temporary accommodation residential assessment unit.

Job Responsibilities
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, ensuring a high standard of clinical care. To provide and support effective clinical leadership within the team, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible care standards, ensuring evidence-based practice is used.
Demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to child protection. Participate in risk assessment & decision-making process at child protection meetings, providing written reports, and health advice.
Develop and maintain effective communication within the team to maintain productive working relationships and promote good morale within the team, resulting in a quality that all clients and colleagues are treated at all times in an equitable manner, respecting and showing an understanding of diversity.
