About the Role

The University of York is seeking a highly skilled Engagement and Communications Manager to support the Head of White Rose in realising a bold new vision and mission that enables our people to thrive.

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic communications plan for the consortium and fostering networks across the three universities. You will play a key role in overseeing the Community Fund, which is intended to catalyse the establishment of networks and communities across the universities.

A proactive storyteller, you will have a proven track record in producing captivating content across various channels. Your collaborative efforts with partners have led to the execution of engaging communications campaigns for diverse audiences.

This is a full-time role, however part-time working at a minimum of 0.8 FTE will also be considered. We are open to flexible arrangements - please feel free to discuss them with us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a multi-audience communications plan that raises the organisation's profile.
  • Create and manage content across various mediums, including web, news, newsletters, videos, and social media, with a focus on responsible, accurate, and accessible communication.
  • Build and maintain collaborative, productive working relationships and networks.
  • Take the initiative and work independently to develop effective communications activities.
  • Manage social media channels and develop a social media strategy.

Requirements

  • Level 6 qualification or equivalent non-UK qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
  • Substantial experience of working in a strategic communications role with a track record of raising an organisation's profile.
  • Experience of developing and delivering a multi-audience communications plan.
  • Ability to create and manage content across various mediums.
  • Strong networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and work independently.
  • Experience of managing social media channels.
