Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Keynsham, Bristol. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing specialized machinery using SolidWorks to meet customer expectations and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop mechanical equipment and systems using SolidWorks.
  2. Produce technical information, drawings, and associated schedules and documents.
  3. Maintain drawing files and records throughout the project.
  4. Liaise with the CAD/PDM system to resolve day-to-day problems.
  5. Work with the Network Manager to implement CAD/PDM software and hardware updates and upgrades.
  6. Attend customer visits to commission and test machines.
  7. Ensure as-built specifications are recorded and system function is tested and proven prior to commissioning.
  8. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
Requirements:
  1. Educated to degree level or HNC/D level or equivalent qualification in a mechanical engineering or design discipline.
  2. Experience in 3D modeling with SolidWorks is required.
  3. Knowledge of the packaging industry or special purpose machine design is desirable.
  4. Project management skills and risk assessment ability.
  5. Ability to negotiate and influence customers.
  6. Current driving license and passport required for travel.
