Job Purpose

As a Trade Compliance Specialist at Burberry Limited, you will play a critical role in delivering our Trade Compliance strategy, ensuring all compliance and regulatory requirements are met globally. You will be the subject matter expert and point of contact for multiple manufacturing sites across the UK and the globe, supporting the movement of stock and non-stock items.

This Trade Compliance Specialist role is a full-time, permanent position working in a hybrid environment (2 days per week in the office).

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate imports and exports of non-stock goods, completing and supplying documents and declarations
  • Collaborate with approved brokers and logistics providers to ensure the smooth movement of items across borders
  • Provide country-specific guidance to the business on additional import requirements for non-stock products into the UK and the EU, as well as the US and Middle East
  • Supply accurate commodity codes for all non-stock products moving into the EU and UK, in addition to global HS codes as needed
  • Support internal projects where input, involvement, or expertise from Trade Compliance is required
  • Audit and monitor entries to ensure they are compliant with local import and export legislation, as well as support global customs audits
  • Provide support to the wider operations team, including UK and EU import advice, clearance instructions to third-party brokers and forwarders, ad-hoc business inquiries, non-stock shipments, and general business guidance
Personal Profile
  • Experience within customs/trade compliance within a large, global business or brokerage, and an in-depth understanding of UK & EU Customs regulations
  • Proficient understanding of international trade, import duties, commodity codes, incoterms, preference, and valuation
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written) essential with expert communication skills across all levels. Italian language skills highly advantageous
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as being confident to work independently
  • Demonstrates initiative and drive to meet deadlines while working in an ambiguous environment
