The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our Surgical Services Management Team as a Support Surgical Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dedicated administrative and clerical support to ensure the provision of high-quality patient care.
- Track and support patients from referral to treatment and discharge, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Collaborate with Surgical Coordinators and clinical staff to develop integrated pathways that enable the best use of resources and ensure patients receive timely and appropriate care.
- Provide cross-cover for other team members and actively participate in the sharing of skills and experience within the team.
- Manage waiting lists in accordance with the Patient Access Policy and achieve government and JAG waiting time standards.
- Monitor the Patient Target List (PTL) on a daily basis to ensure government access standards are not breached and take appropriate action to resolve capacity issues.
- NVQ3 or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Proven ability to provide administrative services and achieve own work targets.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to use own initiative and problem-solve.
- Knowledge of NHS performance standards relating to Cancer and 18 week referral to treatment times.
- Standard keyboard skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
