Aberlour Child Care Trust is a leading provider of children's services in Scotland, dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and families. Our Intensive Family Support Service is a key part of this work, providing tailored support to families who are struggling to cope.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child and Family Worker to join our team. As a key member of our service, you will work directly with families in their homes, community settings, and our dedicated base, providing practical support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to identify the needs of families and develop tailored support plans
  • Work with children and families to provide practical help, guidance, and support in areas such as parenting, education, and health
  • Liaise with partner agencies, schools, and nurseries to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting families
  • Participate in group work sessions and lead activities to promote family well-being and resilience
  • Attend meetings, children's hearings, and other events as required to support families and advocate for their needs
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A sound knowledge of child development and family dynamics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with families
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to work unsocial hours and respond to the needs of families
  • A current driving license (or ability to arrange alternative transport)
