Junior SEND Specialist

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Junior SEND Specialist who will collaborate with experienced SEND practitioners and take responsibility for a specific area of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) practice under the guidance of the SEND Coordinator.

Candidates should possess qualifications in, or show a keen interest in pursuing a qualification related to SEND, enabling them to promote, lead, and manage initiatives under the supervision of the SEND Coordinator and Deputy SEND Coordinator. Areas of focus may include Autism, Social Emotional Mental Health, Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), or English as an Additional Language (EAL).

The ideal candidate will assist in supporting students with special educational needs, working collaboratively within the SEND team. Responsibilities will span across all year groups, providing support to all students with SEND, while also leading initiatives in their specialized area.

Key responsibilities include assessing student needs, implementing intervention strategies, and evaluating the effectiveness of support programs.

Duties may involve observing students in classroom settings, assisting with academic support activities, developing individualized learning and behavioral plans, and providing personal care and assistance to students or their families. Engaging with external agencies will also be an essential aspect of this role.
