Junior SEND Specialist

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Junior SEND Specialist who will collaborate with experienced SEND practitioners and take responsibility for a specific area of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) practice under the guidance of the SEND Coordinator.

Candidates should possess qualifications in, or demonstrate a keen interest in pursuing qualifications related to SEND, enabling them to promote, lead, and manage initiatives under the supervision of the SEND Coordinator and Deputy SEND Coordinator. Areas of focus may include Autism, Social Emotional Mental Health, Cognition and Learning (SpLD), Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), or English as an Additional Language (EAL).

The ideal candidate will provide support to students with special educational needs, working collaboratively as part of the SEND team. They will engage with all year groups and assist all students with SEND, while also leading their own specialized area.

Key responsibilities will include assessing student needs, implementing intervention strategies, and evaluating the effectiveness of support programs.

Duties may encompass observing students in classroom settings, aiding in academic support activities, developing individualized learning, support, or behavioral plans, and offering personal care and assistance to students or their families. Liaising with external agencies will also be an essential aspect of this role.
