About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support our Primary School pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work under the direction of the SENCO to provide individualized support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of quality learning and teaching to pupils with SEN, under the direction of the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Encourage student participation in social and academic activities, promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Work with students who have complex SEN, including those with ASC, ADHD, social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Undertake specified work with individuals, groups, and whole classes, under the supervision of a qualified teacher.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree and demonstrate strong academic attainment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work and student behaviors.
  • Good understanding of how children learn and previous experience working with students with ASC and ADHD.
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive, resilient mindset.
