Clinical Pharmacy Technician
The Royal Berkshire Pharmacy department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of clinical pharmacy services and is seeking motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic technicians to become part of our team.
In light of recent advancements and investments in our Clinical Pharmacy Services, we are looking to recruit Band 5 Clinical Pharmacy Technicians.
We are in search of aspirational, enthusiastic, and compassionate individuals who are eager to develop and progress their careers in clinical patient-facing roles.
Key Responsibilities
As a registered Pharmacy Technician, you will be organized, resourceful, and possess excellent time management skills. You should demonstrate initiative and contribute positively to our expanding team.
We encourage applications from community pharmacy professionals or those from other sectors of pharmacy who are looking for new experiences or wish to enhance their skills in a different practice area.
Candidates who are already Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technicians or have received Medicines Management training are also encouraged to apply; having these post-qualification credentials is advantageous.
Comprehensive training and access to accredited courses aligned with national standards will be provided.
The successful candidate will primarily operate at the ward level, delivering pharmacy services that include the assessment of Patients' Own Drugs (PODs), Medicines Reconciliation, supply of medications, and patient counseling. A thorough training program will be made available.

Job Requirements
Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services with relevant knowledge
- Accredited Checking Technician status
- Qualifications in Medicines Optimisation
- Professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable
- Practice Supervisor accreditation (or equivalent)
Experience
Essential
- Post-qualification experience in an Acute UK hospital or community pharmacy
- Familiarity with ward-based or medicines management technician roles
- Experience in patient counseling
Desirable
- Experience in conducting audits or project work
- Experience in providing developmental feedback
