About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flood Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Calibre Search. As a key member of our Environmental and Design team, you will be responsible for delivering projects related to flood risk management and water resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver projects to time and budget, working with a range of stakeholders, including Local Authorities, Internal Drainage Boards, and private sector clients.
  • Conduct technical work, including analysis of GIS datasets, model outputs, and mapping, to inform project reporting.
  • Assist with tenders for commissions, present at client meetings or project workshops, and write concise and logical reports.
  • Apply an understanding of local flood risk management policy and procedure to projects, using and analysing datasets, GIS, and modelling outputs.
  • Develop and implement flood risk management strategies, including Strategic Flood Risk Assessments (SFRAs), Surface Water Management Plans (SWMPs), and Local Flood Risk Management Strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to grow our Local Flood Risk Management services.
Requirements
  • Environmental or physical science-related qualification, degree, or equivalent.
  • Chartered status (ICE, CIWEM, or equivalent) or a desire to work towards becoming Chartered.
  • Strong and proven communications skills, with the ability to work across multiple offices and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in hydraulic modelling, hydrology, and mapping, as well as knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, policy, and strategy development.
