About the Role

Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Immunisation Nurse to join their School Age Vaccination Service team in Kingston + Richmond. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe delivery and triage of nasal flu and other vaccination programs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess young people and understand the pre-requisites of giving an immunisation, including understanding contra-indications, aftercare, and relevant advice to provide to the young person.
  • Contribute to the identification and protection of children at risk of abuse and act in accordance with local Safeguarding Children's Board guidelines.
  • Ensure all statutory and mandatory training is up to date, including CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Immunisation training.
  • Maintain effective communication and liaison with other nursing disciplines and allied professions.
  • Provide support, mentorship, guidance, and supervision to junior and non-qualified staff members of the School Nursing service.
  • Maintain personal safety and that of others by taking reasonable care, carrying out the requirements of the law, and following recognised codes of practice.

Key Requirements
  • Administer vaccines according to the national immunisation schedule.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of immunisations given.
