About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients with mental health conditions in a community setting
  • Undertake urgent and routine psychiatric assessments as needed
  • Liaise with GPs and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care
  • Provide advice and consultation to multidisciplinary teams and attend regular meetings
  • Ensure timely and effective documentation of clinical decisions and management plans

Requirements

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Experience of assessing and treating patients in a community setting
  • Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Ability to assess and treat psychiatric problems in older adults and deal with crisis situations
