Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at MWH Treatment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in providing superior quality engineering design services to minimize risks and maximize profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts.

Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications, and standards pertaining to the contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop cost-effective design layouts that meet the requirements of the specification and can be constructed and commissioned effectively, considering all costs associated with the design and subsequent construction.
  • Utilize standard practices wherever possible to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Maintain competitiveness by continuously improving design solutions and processes.
  • Provide estimates and feedback to the Proposals department to support business development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of procedures and processes to ensure the continuing growth and improvement of the department.
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing procedures and processes to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
  • Coordinate designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWH Treatment to ensure seamless integration and effective project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by working within a culture that prioritizes customer needs and recognizes the importance of customer satisfaction in achieving business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a personal development plan to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in supervising and developing staff to ensure their growth and success.
  • Contribute to ensuring a safe working environment for all staff by promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Minimize waste from all departmental activities and ensure designs take account of environmental issues.
  • Ensure that design takes full regard of all health and safety requirements.
