About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions using AutoCAD / Inventor and leading engineers/designers in the production of complex design solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement design solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements and company standards.
  • Lead and direct engineers/designers in the production of complex design solutions, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure design deliverables meet quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, and Method Statements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet project requirements and company standards.
  • Develop and implement design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineers/designers to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers and suppliers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve design solutions and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Chartered Member of the IMechE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, with a strong understanding of design principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
