Position Overview

CLIMATE 17 is a rapidly expanding consultancy firm specializing in sustainable development and environmental risk management in emerging markets. We partner with global financial institutions to navigate and mitigate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in a variety of projects, including:

  • Designing and implementing ESG frameworks and enhancing organizational capacity.
  • Managing ESG risks associated with large-scale development projects.
  • Contributing to significant reforestation initiatives and community investment strategies.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A relevant degree in environmental, biological, biophysical, or social sciences (a postgraduate degree is advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Experience in client-facing roles, effectively communicating technical and project requirements.
  • Expertise in biodiversity management, including action plans, monitoring services, and Critical Habitat Assessments.
  • Experience conducting Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental Due Diligence (ESDD), including the preparation of comprehensive project reports.
  • Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles, particularly in their application to biodiversity and ESG projects.
  • Experience supporting corporations in formulating biodiversity and nature-positive strategies.
  • Knowledge of international and local environmental regulations and guidelines.
  • Ability to collaborate with other consultants and support junior team members.
  • Skills in coordinating with contractors and stakeholders to fulfill reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in managing project budgets and timelines.
