Job Title: BMS Project Engineer

About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced BMS Project Engineer to join our National BMS Projects and Operations team. As a key member of this team, you'll be responsible for designing, integrating, and commissioning Building Management Systems (BMS) for our clients.

You'll work closely with our project managers and regional operations manager to deliver site activities and design elements of the role. This will require a mix of on-site work and remote design tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and configure controller strategies and schematics for BMS solutions, including Trend, Tridium, and Distech.
  • Provide exceptional professionalism in delivering site solutions from initial mobilisation to final commissioning and demonstration.
  • Use initiative to proactively adopt project tasks and coordinate delivery with project managers, project coordinators, engineers, and sub-contractors.
  • Carry out site visits to understand plant and site requirements, ensuring software strategy and head-end schematics accurately match.
  • Create and utilise standard strategy and schematic designs that can be easily understood and adopted by design and commissioning teams.
  • Complete commissioning of the Graphics Head End on site.
  • Mentor and coach Controls engineers to develop skill sets and enhance the overall knowledge base.
  • Take full ownership of commissioning new BMS installations and the Graphics Head End on site, ensuring the system meets client expectations.
  • Support the wider BMS Operations teams with PPMs and Reactive Callouts on selected sites if required.
  • Share knowledge and support with colleagues across the Projects and Controls Operations.
  • Verify software strategy design throughout the commissioning process and deliver documented evidence of the completed system.
About You

We're looking for someone with a strong knowledge of the Trend SET software tool, experience with Modbus, MBus, and BACnet protocols, and a good understanding of IT networks and IP configuration. You'll also need to be able to build partner relationships with customers and suppliers, focusing on solving problems.

Able to work independently and as part of a team, you'll be a strong communicator with excellent problem-solving skills. You'll also have a passion for sustainability and energy efficiency, with a desire to make a positive impact on the environment.
