About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and administrative support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain standards, procedures, and systems to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide educational and clinical support.
  • Participate in risk management activities and contribute to the development of care pathways and clinical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to promote close working links and improve patient outcomes.
  • Ensure the highest standards of care are maintained through regular quality reviews and audits.
Person Specification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council.
  • MRCOG or equivalent qualification.
  • Training and experience equivalent to that required for UK CCT.
  • Entry onto the Specialist Register in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or within 6 months of CCT date.
  • ATSM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Higher degree.
  • MOET/ALSO or equivalent training.
  • PROMPT trained and faculty.
  • ATSM in fetal or maternal medicine.
  • ATSM in Antenatal Care/ High Risk Pregnancy or equivalent.
  • ATSM in Labour Ward Lead.
