Job Summary

Cranleigh STEM, Sustainability & SHEQ Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Molecular Biology Research Scientist to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting molecular biology research and development activities, including DNA/RNA extractions, qPCR and NGS assays, and biobank management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Molecular Biology Research: Perform DNA/RNA extractions, execute and validate qPCR and NGS assays, and manage biobank and clinical sample storage.
  • Develop and Implement Research Protocols: Prepare buffer solutions, ensure the quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of project deliverables, and provide regular updates.
  • Collaborate with External Partners: Contribute to collaborative projects with external partners, write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and scientific reports, and maintain laboratory equipment and ensure cleanliness.
  • Handle and Process Human Samples: Handle and process human samples, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Education: BSc/MSc in Genetics, Epigenetics, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of scientific research experience, with a strong understanding of molecular biology techniques.
  • Skills: Excellent attention to detail and recordkeeping, ability to critically evaluate data, strong time management, multitasking, and organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience Working with Clinical Samples: Experience working with clinical samples, familiarity with next-generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation, expertise in epigenetics assay development, and experience in a regulated environment.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven ability to write papers and scientific reports, and a strong track record of delivering high-quality research results.
