Patient Care Support Specialist Role at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We are in search of a committed Patient Care Support Specialist to become a vital part of our team. This role focuses on delivering crucial assistance to individuals undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring comprehensive care from the initial preparation stages through to recovery and rehabilitation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate patient readiness for surgical interventions and provide follow-up care
  • Observe and document patient vital signs, promptly communicating any issues to the supervising nurse
  • Deliver personal care services to enhance patient comfort
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth patient transitions upon discharge
  • Administer basic wound care as required
  • Assist registered nursing staff in providing exceptional patient care

Required Qualifications and Skills

Qualifications: Aiming to achieve NVQ level 3 certification

Experience: Proven experience in a healthcare environment at NVQ level 2

Knowledge: Recognized for delivering outstanding patient support

Skills: Excellent communication abilities, capacity to foster strong relationships with team members, and basic computer skills

Additional Attributes: Capability to assist both colleagues and patients effectively
