Position Overview
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and guide the Patient Care Coordinators. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and managing workloads effectively
- Providing assistance to ensure patients are scheduled according to clinical urgency, national operational benchmarks, and other relevant targets
- Acting as the escalation point for patients at risk of breaches and addressing clinic capacity challenges
- Ensuring that operational objectives of the Trust are achieved and maintained within the team
- Generating daily reports for call monitoring, urgent and cancer referrals, unused appointment slots, and outstanding reports
- Raising any concerns with the PAC Manager or relevant divisions
- Representing the department in performance assurance discussions
Core Responsibilities
Supervise team members to ensure equitable workload distribution and optimize the efficiency of the Patient Care Coordinators and administrative staff. This includes:
- Prioritizing and delegating tasks as necessary while managing high-pressure situations and unexpected challenges
- Ensuring all outpatient referrals are processed promptly
- Maintaining adequate coverage on the telephone schedule
- Overseeing the accurate and timely entry of data into the Patient Administration System, ensuring all outcomes from satellite outpatient clinics are reconciled for monthly reporting
