Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our team of Systems and Software engineers in the Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) sector of the EW line of business at Leonardo.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet the sector's long-term business strategy.
  • Project Management: Manage cross-site, multi-disciplined engineering teams to ensure clear role definitions, effective communication, and successful project delivery.
  • Customer Engagement: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and partners to deliver product/project capabilities that meet their needs.
  • Internal Communication: Maintain effective internal communication with the Engineering IPT, IPT lead, Project Manager, and Heads of function to ensure seamless collaboration and information sharing.
  • Team Development: Set clear project engineering goals for the team and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Design Solution: Ensure the design solution is user-centered, reliable, documented, and operational within its designated environment.
  • Project Configuration: Manage project configuration and change to maximize design reuse.
  • Supplier Management: Supervise Suppliers and project Make or Buy decisions.
  • Concept Development: Capture candidate concept solutions, trade-off study results, and engage end users.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Engineering or scientific Degree qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience: Experience in delivering engineering projects
  • Skills: Clear, concise engineering plan production, strong problem-solving and communication skills with diverse stakeholders, leadership competence, and strong team-working abilities.
