Job Title: Higher Level SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Higher Level SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex needs in a Secondary School setting.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and committed individual to make a real difference in the lives of our pupils. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing support to pupils in various learning contexts, including the classroom, local environment, and community, to aid their learning, development, and progress across the curriculum.
  • Empowering and supporting pupils with complex needs to achieve their educational and personal goals.
  • Promoting equality, diversity, and the rights of our pupils to be treated with respect and seen as learners.
  • Participating in physical intervention and personal care routines, if required.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a school setting is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEN is essential.
  • Friendly, confident, and calm attitude.
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults.
  • Adaptable to working with pupils with vulnerable backgrounds.
  • Good knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Passionate about helping pupils to succeed academically, emotionally, and socially.
