Job Title: Educational Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Support Worker to join our team at Veritas Education Recruitment. As an Educational Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in our special schools in Bradford.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in developing and implementing individualized learning activities for students with SEN.
  • Provide direct support to students through one-on-one and small group interactions, addressing their specific learning needs.
  • Help in the creation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track students' progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere.
  • Aid in classroom management and perform routine administrative tasks.
  • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and engage in professional development.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and child protection policies.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with young people and/or adults with SEN/complex needs is essential.
  • Strong understanding of behavior management principles and positive behavior support strategies.
  • Be Level 2 Team Teach trained or be willing to attend the training course offered by Veritas.
  • Safeguarding training is essential, this can be offered by Veritas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the dynamic nature of the role.
  • Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon registration.
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
