AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. This role involves significant expertise across diverse sectors and practical fire engineering applications within a client-oriented framework.

In this capacity, you will work closely with our UK fire engineering team to execute both domestic and international projects. You will also mentor a graduate in our Birmingham office, providing essential guidance and support from senior colleagues. This position is designed for individuals with developmental experience in a professional context.

This role is perfect for a seasoned consultant looking to elevate their career or for someone keen to broaden their knowledge and design capabilities within a reputable fire safety consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight, utilizing CFD modeling, evacuation modeling, and other analytical fire engineering techniques to ensure adherence to local and international codes.
  • Manage design initiatives and formulate fire strategies across various sectors in the UK, KSA, UAE, and other Middle Eastern nations, demonstrating a strong background in technical fire engineering applications.
  • Develop innovative solutions to address new challenges by adapting standard procedures or methods from previous projects.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary evaluations of project outputs.
  • Contribute to the creation of precise cost estimates for technical project efforts.

Qualifications:

Are you ready to explore new possibilities?

  • A relevant degree in fire engineering or a professional qualification.
  • Experience in a similar consultancy or relevant business within the UK or other Middle Eastern regions.
  • Proven expertise in various sectors and technical fire engineering applications, with a focus on local and international regulations.
  • Experience managing the fire engineering components of small to medium-sized design projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Capability in preparing fee proposals and task variations for fire engineering tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSc or MSc in Fire Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional membership with the Institution of Fire Engineers or Engineering Council, with progress towards chartership.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising junior engineers in both people and project management.
  • A clear professional history with evidence of ongoing development and learning.
