The Dakota Hotel, located in the vibrant Glasgow City Centre, is in search of a dedicated and industrious individual to become a part of our Kitchen Team as a Chef de Partie.

CONTRACT AND COMPENSATION

Compensation is set at £14.40 per hour, with weekly payments leading to a minimum guaranteed gross annual salary of £29,950 (including the expected tronc payment).

This position offers a permanent contract with a minimum of X hours per week, typically covering shifts from 10:00 to 16:00 or 17:30 to 23:00, working any 4 days out of 7.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate confidence in managing a bustling service and efficiently oversee at least two distinct sections within the kitchen.
  • Prepare and cook dishes in accordance with the specifications outlined by the Head Chef, covering all menus such as a la carte, room service, breakfast, bar food, and event catering.
  • Execute preparation tasks across any assigned section of the kitchen while maintaining excellent knife skills.
  • Exhibit the ability to multi-task and navigate through busy service periods.
  • Conduct a thorough clean-down of the kitchen and uphold a pristine working environment.
  • Commit to working collaboratively as part of the team, ensuring effective communication with all kitchen and front-of-house personnel.
  • Possess a solid understanding of and ability to comply with Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations.
  • Show a willingness to learn and assist in various areas of the kitchen.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience in a full-service restaurant as a Commis Chef or Demi Chef.
  • Experience and capability in food preparation for fish and meats.
  • A passion for quality food and culinary preparation.
  • A strong work ethic and a collaborative spirit.
  • The ability to remain physically active throughout shifts, standing for extended periods and working efficiently.
  • An enthusiastic attitude that promotes a culture of positivity.
  • A task-oriented mindset with a keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility in shift patterns to meet the needs of the business.
