Opportunity Summary:

An exceptional opportunity exists to engage with a leading investment banking and brokerage firm as an Internal Audit Associate.


Role Purpose:

The Global Internal Audit division plays a vital role in the corporate governance framework, focusing on evaluating the control environment and reporting any identified deficiencies to the Audit Committees and senior management.


Key Duties:

  • Oversee and facilitate internal audits across various business and technology sectors within Europe.
  • Responsible for annual audit planning, risk assessment, ongoing monitoring, audit execution, and follow-up on audit findings.
  • Conduct audits adhering to departmental standards and perform effective risk assessments on processes/functions.
  • Ensure timely and quality delivery of assignments in line with methodology standards.
  • Assist in the continuous monitoring program for business coverage across Europe, including regular interactions with key stakeholders.
  • Manage and execute risk assessments using departmental methodologies.
  • Support strategic initiatives for Data Analytics by actively contributing to the program.
  • Encourage audit colleagues to leverage data analysis to enhance audit methodologies.
  • Conduct pre-implementation reviews, special projects, and advisory work as necessary.
  • Continuously seek improvements in audit and departmental processes.

Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA/CISA or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Strong experience in auditing electronic trading environments and operational processes within financial institutions.
  • Proven ability to build robust relationships with auditees and effectively manage senior-level interactions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business needs and ability to exceed expectations.
  • Strong networking skills within the organization and the broader financial services sector.
  • Extensive experience in managing and executing audits in brokerage settings.
  • Knowledge of electronic trading, sales and client onboarding, clearing and settlements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in developing and applying data analytics for audit assurance.
  • Proven track record in executing regional audit projects and managing multiple audits simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify key risks and control weaknesses, with sound judgment on critical issues.
  • Good understanding of business resiliency, outsourcing management, and IT application controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong time management and project management abilities, consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize workload.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, supported by experience in business auditing within financial services or consulting environments.
  • Solid knowledge of auditing principles, best practices, and agile audit techniques.
