Internal Audit Specialist

Our client, a prominent global organization, is seeking a seasoned Internal Audit Specialist for a contract role.

Key Responsibilities:- Manage audit assignments throughout all phases of the audit lifecycle, engaging in multiple core and integrated audit initiatives across various business sectors and teams.
- Clearly communicate audit goals, risks, and findings to stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- Participate in discussions with relevant parties to comprehend, critically evaluate, document, and challenge financial crime-related processes, risks, and controls.
- Conduct assessments of process and control design and operational effectiveness across global and domestic audits, focusing on financial crime risk areas.
- Validate internal audit issues and regulatory concerns, assisting in root cause analysis as necessary.
- Document risk-based evaluations of audit findings and ensure that management's corrective actions effectively address these observations.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of financial crime risks across all business lines globally, including first and second lines of defense.
- Maintain audit expertise through continuous professional development, including enhancing data literacy skills.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in internal auditing or control testing, including validation processes.
- Experience in compliance and internal audit, preferably with a Big-4 firm or a large financial institution.
- Knowledge of U.S. and international financial crime laws, regulations, and guidance.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science or a related field.
- Familiarity with business processes in the financial services sector, including an understanding of associated products, services, and regulations.
Certifications:
- Attainment or pursuit of certifications related to financial crimes compliance, such as ACAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist).
- Understanding and experience in the financial crimes compliance risk domain.
- Preferred experience in financial services, banking, or card product industries.
- Knowledge of control theory and professional auditing practices, including the audit lifecycle.
