About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Railway Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Alstom. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our trains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repair tasks on Aventra Units, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Take overall responsibility for vehicle examinations, ensuring that all maintenance instructions are followed and that vehicles are safe and defect-free.
  • Undertake all types of maintenance examination work, including fault finding and repair, to ensure that trains are safe and reliable.
  • Take responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional workmanship of oneself and others under your control.
  • Identify potential Health and Safety concerns and report them to the Shift Production Manager or Facility Management Team.
  • Ensure compliance with all laid-down H&S legislation and depot procedures to maintain a safe and accident-free environment.
  • Keep the work area clean and tidy, maintaining the highest standards at all times.
  • Support the Shift Production Manager in delivering Quality, Waste Reduction, Delivery, and EHS targets.
  • Produce comprehensive reports on specific fault-finding investigations.
  • Identify potential improvements and feedback to Engineering.
  • Constantly search for ways to improve processes.
  • Responsible for coaching staff in good working practices and quality standards, and supporting the Shift Production Manager in identifying training needs.
Requirements
  • NVQL3 Qualification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate excellence in approach to work and people activities.
  • Practical hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Safety Critical Competencies.
  • Fault finding electrically and mechanically.
  • Accurate completion of all paperwork prior to supervisor validation.
  • Highly self-motivated individual, able to work under own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
