We are a busy healthcare practice that provides a service to approximately 38,000 patients. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, empathy, and compassion. They will be able to work under pressure and as part of a large team. The role will offer great variety, including assisting in ophthalmology clinics, haematology clinics, and contraception clinics.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, working under the supervision of Lead Nurses.
  • Implement clinical care packages, phlebotomy, and assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Establish and maintain communication with patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and maintain the health, safety, and security of patients and staff.
  • Contribute to the improvement of healthcare services.
  • Support equality and value diversity, identifying and reporting situations where there may be a need for protection.
  • Plan, develop, and implement approaches to promote health and well-being.

Requirements

  • General education (3 GCSEs) to grade C or above.
  • NVQ level 2 desirable.
  • Practical and intellectual skills, including self-awareness, communication, and planning.
  • Ability to work within manual-handling policy and handle simple medical equipment.
  • Ability to cope with occasional exposure to distressing circumstances or emotional events.
