The Position: Claims Specialist - Financial Lines
Hybrid Work Arrangement - 3 days in office and 2 days remote
This position is ideal for an individual eager to advance in the insurance sector, preferably someone who is CII certified or pursuing certification. The candidate should be adept at managing multiple tasks and possess a strong background in Professional Indemnity, Directors & Officers (D&O), and Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance. The focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service, employing 'Know Your Customer' (KYC) and 'Treating Customers Fairly' (TCF) principles, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
As the organization expands, there will be numerous opportunities to engage in various innovative projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee claims across various Financial Lines products, ensuring that service standards are consistently met or surpassed.
  • Maintain an organized diary system for all claims, ensuring timely follow-ups.
  • Develop and uphold a comprehensive understanding of the Acturis system.
  • Provide the broking team and clients with necessary claims information and reports.
  • Ensure that complex claims are managed according to established group procedures.
  • Acknowledge all new claims to clients and insurers, keeping clients updated to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Generate claims management information and reports as needed.
  • Meet with clients to present claims information when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Ensure continuous professional development is maintained by keeping skills and knowledge current.
Required Experience:
  • Strong understanding of Professional Indemnity, D&O, and/or E&O claims handling, along with solid commercial awareness and knowledge of insurance claims processes.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, applying TCF and KYC methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the Acturis system is desirable but not mandatory; proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
  • CII certification or working towards it is preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and effective time management abilities.
  • A proactive, problem-solving attitude with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
