Job Summary

The post holder will support, facilitate, and coordinate the development of Clinical Governance, patient safety, and Risk Management within the Healthcare Group. They will work closely with the Director of Midwifery and Head of Maternity Governance and Assurance to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and robust governance frameworks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and support the multi-disciplinary team in the Healthcare Group to achieve the CQC Standards.
  • Lead the healthcare group in providing support and advice on quality issues and audit to all clinical staff, Allied health professionals, nurses, support workers, and medical staff.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the multi-disciplinary audit programme within the Health Group.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Obstetric and Gynaecology Mortality and Morbidity Meeting within the Health Group.
  • Ensure all procedural documents are updated and reviewed in a timely manner in line with Trust Standards.
  • Ensure all NICE Guidance is updated and reviewed in a timely manner in line with Trust Standards.
  • Be approachable to staff and support them in initiating changes in response to concerns, complaints, and clinical incidents.
  • Work alongside the Director of Midwifery and Head of Maternity Governance and Assurance to sustain any changes within the service.
  • Assist with Legal Investigations as required.

Person Specification
  • Recent experience in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
  • Evidence of clinical competence and regular clinical practice.
  • Evidence of up-to-date clinical practice and continued professional development.
  • Understanding of the principles of clinical risk management/Clinical Governance.
  • Be open to change and help create and drive change in the Division.
