Executive Chef

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our team at Blagdon Retirement Village in Taunton, Somerset. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating diverse and nutritious menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Menu Planning: Design and create menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
- Cooking: Prepare and cook high-quality meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Catering to Dietary Restrictions: Accommodate special dietary requirements and restrictions, including low-sodium, gluten-free, and other individual needs.
- Kitchen Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including inventory management and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the dining services team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for residents.
- Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Special Events: Plan and execute special dining events and activities for residents.
- Proven experience as a Chef in a similar setting (retirement community, assisted living, or similar environment preferred).
- Culinary degree or relevant certification.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Creativity and passion for delivering high-quality, creative, appealing meals.
