Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Sales and related departments to ensure the production schedule aligns with customer demands.
- Engage with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier capacity planners to secure the necessary materials and resources for the production schedule.
- Evaluate production performance and adjust the schedule as needed to maintain on-time vehicle delivery.
- Assign customer orders to specific production slots, ensuring adherence to delivery timelines, supply lead times, and production constraints while analyzing demand trends.
- Monitor aged work-in-progress within the factory against required production schedule dates and coordinate with production and factory planners as necessary.
- Plan for various factory areas, including Tubs, Trim, and Paint.
- Ensure that the correct vehicles are scheduled to meet sales objectives and shipping requirements.
- Develop and manage production planning tools, including capacity planning models and production schedules.
- Oversee all production control data to ensure a seamless workflow and foster continuous improvement.
- Maintain accuracy in planning systems.
- Coordinate with the Launch Team for scheduling Product Development vehicles within the production timeline.
- Optimize working capital and work-in-progress across all manufacturing sites.
- Assist in creating and managing key performance metric dashboards for business throughput and constraint tracking.
- Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing key performance indicators.
- Incorporate lessons learned into new model scheduling to improve launch processes.
- Support or lead additional tasks to enhance production scheduling and execution.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience in vehicle or production planning, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage tactfully and diplomatically, especially under pressure.
- Familiarity with the Sales and Operations Planning (S/OP) process.
- Proficiency in business intelligence tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Domo, or Birst, including SQL query writing.
- Degree or higher diploma in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Experience with ERP systems in a planning capacity.
- Competence in data analysis tools like Excel or Tableau.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or a STEM-related discipline.
