Position Overview

We are seeking a committed and passionate Lead Mammography Specialist with a Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography to join our dynamic team. This role involves working across various breast units and mobile screening units within the community, contributing to one of the largest screening initiatives in the region.

Our facilities are equipped with advanced technology, including Hologic - Dimensions units and GE-Pristina digital equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

As an innovative team, we have integrated Tomosynthesis into our assessment clinics and are actively participating in national trials, making significant strides in breast health services.

We welcome qualified Mammographers to apply, and we are open to offering training positions for suitable candidates looking to advance their careers.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, performing mammography examinations in both screening and symptomatic breast services, adhering to the National Health Service Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP) and Quality Management System (QMS) protocols.

The Trust is dedicated to professional development, offering a structured career progression pathway that includes opportunities for advancement to Clinical Specialist and Senior Assistant Practitioner roles. The post holder will also assist in service management under the guidance of the Clinical Superintendent Mammographer across multiple sites.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Diploma of the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) in Radiography
  • Current HPC Registration
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Mammography

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Pursuing clinical studies at the Master's level or relevant management training

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Qualified Radiographer
  • Willingness to engage in postgraduate studies towards a Master's degree
  • Ability to work autonomously and produce accurate clinical reports
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in line with Health Professional Council (HPC) standards
  • Competence in conducting audits

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in developing protocols and patient care pathways based on research evidence
  • Involvement in research and development initiatives
