Role Overview:

Position Summary:
We are seeking an Applications Scientist to become a vital part of our Consumer Care division. This role is based in our advanced Materials Innovation Factory and involves collaboration within the Formulation Science team focused on Beauty Care products. The successful candidate will engage in the exploration and characterization of novel molecules, including surfactants, emulsifiers, and rheology modifiers, contributing to Croda's extensive portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and characterize new molecules to enhance product formulations.
- Collaborate with synthesis and formulation teams to understand fundamental science.
- Participate in product development projects, formulating and executing customer-related requests.
- Employ various techniques, including automation, to support product innovation.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are looking for an individual who embodies the following qualities:
- An innovative scientist with a strong desire to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, with essential laboratory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in formulation and a background in the consumer care industry is advantageous.
- Familiarity with techniques such as rheology, spectroscopy, microscopy, and assay development is beneficial.
- Prior experience with automation is a plus but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of ingredients used in personal care formulations and statistical tools like JMP is desirable.
