We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Psycho-Oncology Team at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health and psychological needs, and develop and implement effective care plans.
- Provide advanced clinical skills in psychological and mental health assessment, diagnosis, and interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Collect, collate, and evaluate patient data, and maintain accurate records in line with clinical governance and risk-management.
- Involve patients and their families in the planning and delivery of care, and promote patient-centered care.
- Monitor and promote the health, safety, and security of patients and staff.
- Managerial Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the effective use of resources, including staff and physical resources.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with national guidance and contribute to these activities at a network and national level.
- Organize and prioritize work schedules, and ensure effective skill mix and deployment of staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and report and record incidents and complaints.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Professional Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical practice, and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to healthcare professionals, and participate in education and training activities.
- Exercise effective leadership and management skills, and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
- Participate in research and audit activities, and contribute to the development of new research projects.
- Essential Qualifications
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
- Degree in Nursing or a related field
- NMC Registration
- Desirable Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Experience in delivering psychological therapy
- Experience of non-medical prescribing
- Essential Experience
- Post-registration experience in acute care for adult psychiatric nursing, including risk assessments
- Experience in liaison psychiatry or a relevant clinical specialty involving serious physical illness
- Desirable Experience
- Experience of working within an oncology setting
- Experience of working with a complex care team
- Experience of working within a given resource and demonstrating imaginative and effective use of resources
- Skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to analyze data and provide written reports
- Evidence of effective team working across professional and organizational boundaries
- Experience in teaching and providing supervision to others
- Exhibit leadership skills
- Intermediate IT skills
- Knowledge
- Specialist knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
- Knowledge of professional and NHS issues and policy relating to specialist area
- Evidence-based knowledge in relevant clinical specialty
