Psychological Nurse Specialist

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our Psycho-Oncology Team as a Psychological Nurse Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to work in a leading cancer centre, providing high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health and psychological needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide expert clinical guidance and support to nursing colleagues, patients, and carers/relatives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines within the Trust, and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Lead on the writing of protocols relevant to the Psychological Nurse Specialist role, and contribute to the education and development of pre- and post-registration healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the clinical lead and the rest of the team to contribute to service development, education, and mental health promotion.
- Essential qualifications: RMN, degree in nursing or health-related study, NMC registration.
- Desirable qualifications: Master's degree, experience in delivering psychological therapy, experience of non-medical prescribing.
- Essential experience: post-registration experience in acute care for adult psychiatric nursing, including undertaking risk assessments, post-registration experience including working at a senior clinical level, experience in liaison psychiatry or a relevant clinical specialty involving serious physical illness.
- Desirable experience: experience of working within an oncology setting, experience of working with a complex care team, experience of working within a given resource and ability to demonstrate imaginative and effective use of resources.
