The Role:

As an Assistant Retail Manager at Majestic, you will play a vital role in assisting the Store Manager with driving sales performance and overseeing daily operations. Your focus will be on delivering an outstanding customer experience while maintaining high operational standards and supporting the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager in enhancing store performance and managing daily operations, taking charge in their absence.
  • Maximize sales opportunities and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) by identifying focus areas and implementing improvement plans.
  • Provide market-leading customer service to foster loyalty and encourage repeat business.
  • Deliver a personalized shopping experience by proactively engaging with customers and providing updates on products and events.
  • Share your passion for our products through in-depth knowledge and by organizing engaging tasting events.
  • Support the recruitment, management, and development of the team, acting as a mentor for junior members.
  • Encourage team members to enhance their product knowledge and pursue WSET qualifications.
  • Ensure the store's appearance is maintained to high standards, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for operational improvements within the store.
  • Adhere to internal policies and complete mandatory training to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Facilitate the communication of updates and information within the store and across the business.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Experience in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Understanding of retail KPIs and strategies for improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A proactive attitude focused on finding solutions.
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities.
  • WSET Level 2 qualification is essential, with a willingness to pursue Level 3 for career advancement.
  • A valid UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with minimal penalty points.
