Job Overview

VIPU Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in York. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems using various hardware components, with a focus on MCCs, PLCs, Switchgear, and Drives & Controls.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of designing electrical panels containing PLC's and LV distribution systems, as well as experience with AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft office products. They will also be able to work with production to see the design through to completion and mentor and develop an engineering team.

Additionally, they will support the candidate in achieving professional engineer status (IEng, CEng) and cover professional memberships fees.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing electrical systems using various hardware components
  • Working with production to see the design through to completion
  • Mentoring and developing an engineering team
  • Overseeing and quality checking drawings of engineers
  • Understanding of IEC BS EN 61439-1, Low-voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to meet customer and project expectations
