Maintenance Role Overview

Gap Technical is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a National Manufacturing business based near Harrogate. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by responding effectively to equipment breakdowns, carrying out scheduled maintenance work, and being proactive in correcting and modifying reoccurring machine processing faults.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the manufacturing process by responding effectively to equipment breakdowns and ensuring maximum focus is given to the nominated production area.
  • To fault find in an effective and efficient manner while utilizing the various machines' historic information documentation.
  • To establish harmonious relations with the operational staff and work flexibly with them.
  • To train operational team members to perform minor maintenance tasks and assist in major repairs.
  • To ensure that machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard.
  • To be proactive in reducing engineering downtime and continuously improving the process and the department.

Person Specification

  • The successful candidate will ideally have completed a time-served engineering apprenticeship.
  • A background in Food/FMCG/Packaging Manufacturing will be a distinct advantage.
