Maintenance Engineer Opportunity


Gap Technical Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a National Manufacturing facility near Harrogate. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by responding effectively to equipment breakdowns, carrying out scheduled maintenance work, and being proactive in correcting and modifying reoccurring machine processing faults.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the manufacturing process by responding effectively to equipment breakdowns and ensuring maximum focus is given to their nominated production area.
  • To fault find in an effective and efficient manner while utilizing the various machines' historic information documentation.
  • To establish harmonious relations with the operational staff and work flexibly with them.
  • To train operational team members to perform minor maintenance tasks and assist in major repairs.
  • To ensure that machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard.
  • To be proactive in reducing engineering downtime and continuously improving the process and department.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate will ideally have completed a time-served engineering apprenticeship.
  • A background in Food/FMCG/Packaging Manufacturing will be a distinct advantage, however not a prerequisite.
  • You must be an excellent communicator and be able to plan and organize efficiently.
  • Cross skill training (Electrical to Mechanical Conversion) is required.
  • 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (minimum) must be held.
  • Working knowledge of PLC's with certified training is essential.
