Join our team as a Commercial Modeller and play a pivotal role in shaping the energy landscape. As a key member of our Strategy & Analysis team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our in-house power systems model, generating price and revenue forecasts, and driving business decisions with data-driven insights.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to combine your technical expertise with business acumen, working closely with our Treasury and Tech teams to inform strategic decisions. Your work will involve:

  • Developing novel methodologies for forecasting market-level prices and BESS revenue curves
  • Owning, maintaining, and improving our existing in-house model
  • Providing fundamentals market expertise to support decision-making
  • Generating quantitative, data-backed recommendations to inform business decisions
What We're Looking For

We're seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic individual with a strong background in energy system modelling, preferably in a specialist consultancy or practice, research environment, or energy market participant. Your skills and experience should include:

  • Experience with forecasting methodologies, including optimisation/Operations Research techniques and statistical approaches/DS/ML
  • Strong modelling skills, with the ability to distil key information and convert it into equations reflective of the underlying drivers
  • Strong programming experience, preferably in Python, with familiarity with software development best practices
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
