About the Role

NHS England is seeking a highly experienced and respected Allied Health Professional to play a key role in the clinical leadership of the WT&E Directorate.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated change agent with excellent attention to detail, a natural ability to build strong and effective multi-professional partnerships, and excellent organisational skills.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading important, innovative, and high-quality workforce solutions across Allied Health Professions
  • Ensuring the delivery of key Mandate and NHS Long Term Plan policy improvement priorities in education reform and workforce transformation
  • Developing and implementing strategic programmes of work across systems, regions, or nationally
  • Advocating for the strategic value of Allied Health Professions workforce in the current context of services focused on inequalities, quality, and safety

The NHS England board has set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all.

The successful post holder will be an Allied Health Professional, registered with either the Healthcare Professions Council or the General Osteopathic Council, with broad experience across service, and be committed to the culture and values of the NHS.

The role is the deputy role to the Deputy Chief Allied Health Professions Officer - NHS England Workforce Training and Education and oversees the supply pipeline and postgraduate training pathways for the 15 Allied Health Professions.
