Job Title: Chief Systems Engineer

At Alstom, we're seeking a highly skilled Chief Systems Engineer to join our team in Hatfield. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the development, adaptation, and delivery of our signalling systems in the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development and delivery of SSI and SMARTLOCK systems and processes, ensuring compliance with systems standards and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Systems Engineering Manager to establish best practices and ensure the delivery of standardized objectives and optimum systems solutions.
  • Support safety assurance on allocated projects, including the development of Generic and Specific Application Safety Cases.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to integrate systems, deliver project solutions, and validate technical documentation.
  • Provide second-line product support to customers and contribute to the development of tools and processes within the business.
Requirements:
  • A degree in computer and software literacy, with experience in software development or scripting.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and project delivery staff.
  • Technical report writing skills and a good understanding of systems engineering principles.
  • MSc or BSc level education in an engineering-related subject, preferably control systems, electrical engineering, or systems engineering.
  • Commercial and financial awareness, with experience working in a railway systems engineering environment.
