About the Role

The Scottish Government is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Performance Officer to join the CLD Standards Council team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Assistant Director in implementing, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on the strategic objectives, operating policies, and procedures for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Assistant Director in implementing, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on the strategic objectives, operating policies, and procedures for the organisation.
  • Support the Assistant Director in corporate governance duties, preparation of reports for the Executive Committee, Education Scotland, Scottish Government, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead on the gathering, collating, and publishing of the organisation's annual report.
  • Lead on the implementation of procedures and processes to capture and report on organisational activity and events.
  • Provide support to the Development Officers and Committees to identify areas for improvement, improve use of evidence-based reporting, and data analysis.
  • Collect national data sources to develop a robust profile of the CLD workforce in Scotland.
  • Work with FE/HE institutions and the Approvals committee to design and implement an annual process for capturing and reporting on student demographics.
  • Provide expert advice about the use of appropriate methodologies for undertaking evaluative studies/research, including providing advice about ethical considerations, Data Protection, and support for commissioned evaluation/research as required.
  • Provide specialist advice to the team and committees to develop internal capacity in gathering and using information to inform improvement and in undertaking effective evaluative studies/research, including the development of tools/guidance and the delivery of tailored training and coaching approaches.

Essential Criteria and Qualifications

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong background knowledge and understanding of, and experience with, CLD professional practice, delivery, and the make-up of the CLD workforce.
  • Strong analytical skills using both qualitative and quantitative data, with a particular skillset in quantitative methods and analysis.
  • Ability to problem-solve, make decisions, and prioritise where there are time constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write concisely and clearly for a range of different audiences.
