Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Performance Officer to join our team at the CLD Standards Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Assistant Director in implementing, monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on the strategic objectives, operating policies, and procedures for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Assistant Director with corporate governance duties, preparation of reports for the Executive Committee, Education Scotland, Scottish Government, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead on the gathering, collating, and publishing of the organisation's annual report.
  • Lead on the implementation of procedures and processes to capture and report on organisational activity and events.
  • Provide support to the Development Officers and Committees to identify areas for improvement, improve use of evidence-based reporting, and data analysis.
  • Collect national data sources to develop a robust profile of the CLD workforce in Scotland.
  • Work with FE/HE institutions and the Approvals committee to design and implement an annual process for capturing and reporting on student demographics.
  • Provide expert advice about the use of appropriate methodologies for undertaking evaluative studies/research, including providing advice about ethical considerations, Data Protection, and support for commissioned evaluation/research as required.
  • Provide specialist advice to the team and committees to develop internal capacity in gathering and using information to inform improvement and in undertaking effective evaluative studies/research, including the development of tools/guidance and the delivery of tailored training and coaching approaches.
Requirements
  • Strong background knowledge and understanding of, and experience with, CLD professional practice, delivery, and the make-up of the CLD workforce.
  • Strong analytical skills using both qualitative and quantitative data, with a particular skillset in quantitative methods and analysis.
  • Ability to problem-solve, make decisions, and prioritise where there are time constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write concisely and clearly for a range of different audiences.
What We Offer

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a small, friendly team and apply your analytical skills to improve our corporate approaches to evaluation and use performance data to support improvement. The post will involve working and communicating with members of the executive and standing committees, as well as key stakeholders across the CLD sector.

This role can be based out of one of our Education Scotland office locations, Glasgow, Livingston, Dundee, Aberdeen, or Inverness. This post is hybrid working in line with current Scottish Government policies.

You will be expected to remain in post for a minimum of three years unless successful at gaining promotion to a higher Band or Grade. In the event that further posts are required, a reserve list of successful candidates will be kept for up to 12 months.
