Key Responsibilities

Effectively communicate with patients and their families, ensuring that information is accurately conveyed and documented. Uphold all quality standards within the nursing environment, ensuring the highest level of care is consistently delivered. Collaborate in the formulation of clinical protocols, ensuring they are regularly updated in line with service requirements alongside the Ward/Unit manager. Maintain accurate and clear patient records in compliance with professional and legal standards. Foster and sustain effective working relationships and communication with consultants, medical staff, nursing colleagues, and other multidisciplinary professionals.

Serve as the advocate for patients.

Engage with all members of the multidisciplinary team.

Actively participate in planning effective, timely, and safe discharges in the Day Surgery Ward.

Demonstrate clinical competence in all areas pertinent to advanced practice related to the role.

Commit to eliminating preventable infections by exemplifying best practices in infection prevention and control to all staff and visitors.

Possess a strong understanding of Recovery protocols.

Assume direct responsibility for maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the shift when in charge.
