Job Description:

Supporting SEND Pupils in a Specialist School

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in a specialist school in Nottinghamshire. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students during lessons and school activities to ensure their individual needs are met
  • Assisting staff and students during lunch and break times to promote a positive and inclusive school environment
  • Managing pupils' personalised learning plans to cater to their unique needs
  • Providing daily care and support to students with complex needs
  • Working with a variety of SEND and Mental Health needs to deliver 1:1 or small group activities
  • Collecting evidence of students' work to support their assessment and progress
  • Providing physical management and care of pupils

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a school setting, preferably with SEND pupils
  • Ability to work with students with behavioural difficulties and complex needs
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Desire to work with, inspire, and support children with SEND
  • Interest in supporting students with a variety of SEND, including Physical and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
  • High levels of care and resilience
  • Ability to supply school with teaching references
  • Willingness to be part of the school team and contribute to the wider school environment
